Vertical Zero Datum Program for
Sokkia Instruments
  • Sokkia SET 2/3/4 B II

    • Setup steps may vary depending on year model. You may have to call in.
  1. Setup instrument and level precisely turn on power and index.
  2. Press the (2) Prog. Key
  3. Press the (2) Prog. Key {Correction}
  4. Press the (1) Menu Key {Collimation}
  5. Sight the point on 90deg side {Face 1} {Yes/No}
    Press (Ent/Shft)<yes>
  6. Sight the point on 270deg side {Face 2} {Yes/No}
    Press (Ent/Shft)<yes>
  7. {Observe end} {Yes/No (repeat)} Press (Ent/Shft)<yes>
  8. {New value set} { Yes/No (exit) } Press (Ent/Shft)<yes>
  9. Adjustment is complete.
  • Sokkia Set 3/4/5 A’s and E’s small frame with 5 buttons.
    The only adjustment that you can make in the field is the run Center of the compensator. Which the X value applies correction to the vertical circle.
  1. Setup instrument and level precisely turn on power and index.
  2. At the main screen: {EDM   THEO   S-O   CONF}
                                          F1      F2         F3       F4        ESC
  3. Press (F4) {CONF} key
  4. Press (F2) {Tilt correction}
  5. Press (F1) {Oset} key this will zero the horizontal angle.
  6. Press (F1) {SET} key at the zero position.
  7. Rotate the instrument until the {HAR = 180.00.00}
  8. Press (F1) {SET} key at the 180 position
  9. Adjustment is complete.
  • Sokkia SET 100 series Set 2100/3100/4100 & 110’s
  1. Setup instrument and level precisely turn on power and index.
  2. Horizontally zero set gun while sighted at the prism
  3. (ESC) key unit you reach the main screen.
  4. At the main screen: {Meas    MEM    CNFG}
                                           F1         F3         F4
  5. Press (F4) {CNFG} to enter config menu.
  6. Press (#2) {Instr. Const.}
  7. Press (#1) {Tilt: X### Y###} always perform tilt adjustment first.
  8. {Take F1} on display Press (F4) {Yes}
  9. Rotate the instrument horizontally to 180 position.
  10. {Take F2} on display Press (F4) {Yes}
  11. {New values X=### and Y= ###}
  12. Press (F4) {yes} to store corrected values.
  13. Instrument should return to {Inst. Const.} screen.
  14. Press (#2) {collimation} key
  15. Sight the point on 90deg side {Take F1} {Yes/No}
    Press (F4){yes}
  16. Sight the point on 270deg side {Take F2} {Yes/No}
    Press (F4) {yes}
  17. {Collimation} {EL values & V off. values } Press (F4) {yes}
  18. Adjustment is complete.
  • SET 500/600 series (The Green machines)
  1. Setup instrument and level precisely turn on power and index.
  2. Horizontally zero set gun while sighted at the prism
  3. ESC) key unit you reach the main screen.
  4. At the main screen: {Meas       MEM        CNFG}
                                          F1            F3             F4
  5. Press (F4) {CNFG} to enter config menu.
  6. Press (Arrow key) to highlight {Instr. Const.} Press (← enter) key
  7. Press ( ← ) if {Tilt: X#### Y####} is highlighted . always perform tilt adjustment first.
  8. {Take F1} on display Press (F3) {OK}
  9. Rotate the instrument horizontally to 180.00.00 position.
  10. {Take F2} on display Press (F3) {OK} {New values X&Y}
  11. Press (F4) {yes} to store corrected values.
  12. Instrument should return to {Inst. Const.} screen.
  13. Press (arrow key) to highlight {collimation} Press (← ) key
  14. Index telescope {Oset}
  15. Sight the point on 90deg side {Take F1}
  16. Press (F3){OK}
  17. Sight the point on 270deg side {Take F2}
  18. Press (F3) {OK}
  19. {Collimation} NEW {EL values & V off. values }
  20. Press (F4) {YES} to store the new values.
  21. Adjustment is complete.
  • If Adjustment is out of range you will need to send in for service
  • The Vertical tolerance is 30”.
